The times when you could test your luck in an online casino without any limits are probably a thing of the past, as more and more providers are now introducing deposit limits and additional betting limits per spin.

German customers (because only they are affected by the new regulations) therefore no longer really enjoy playing. But are there perhaps still one or two online casinos without limits? And why exactly have the new restrictions come into force? You can find the answers to these frequently asked questions here.

Casinos without limits - what is that actually?

Until a few months ago, all online casinos actually belonged to the group of "online casinos without limit", as you could deposit as much money as you wanted into your player account. However, this has now changed for German players: Due to the introduction of the German State Treaty on Gambling, German players will only be allowed to deposit 1,000 euros per month, and beyond that there will also be a betting limit per round - more on that in a moment. However, many gambling fans from Germany are understandably not keen on the new regulations and therefore look around for a casino without a limit, where you can still deposit an unlimited amount of money.

The good news in advance: there are indeed still providers to whom this applies. The bad news is that it is currently impossible to estimate how long this will continue to be the case. Generally, online casinos without limits are divided into Malta casinos, Curacao casinos and casinos without a licence. We will now go into a little more detail about all three types.

Curacao Casinos

Casinos with a gambling licence from Curacao are among the rebels among online casinos. As a German visitor, you will realise this relatively quickly, as they have obviously never heard of restrictions in the form of deposit and betting limits. You can continue to deposit significantly higher sums and bet the maximum possible amount per spin on a slot machine.

Table games such as blackjack or roulette as well as live casino games, which are now banned in Germany, can still be played here. So why not simply switch to a Curacao casino straight away?

Quite simply, Curacao is not part of the EU and is therefore based abroad. It is therefore quite possible that a Curacao casino will refuse to pay out particularly large winnings - as a European player, it can then become very complicated to get your money.
The emphasis is on "can", because of course Curacao casinos are also controlled by a renowned gambling authority. Nevertheless, one should exercise caution with providers who apparently don't care about applicable regulations for German players.

Malta Casinos

Many German players already play in Malta casinos without even realising it: Even if online casinos such as Hyperino advertise for new customers in German TV commercials, they all have a gambling licence from Malta. However, this is not a problem, as Malta is known to be a member of the EU and therefore a "safe haven" for German players - the Malta Gaming Authority's gambling licence also enjoys an excellent reputation, as it is only issued if the online casino adheres to particularly strict requirements.

Interestingly, there are still providers among the Malta casinos that have no limits in terms of the monthly deposit and the stake per round. However, it can be assumed that many of the providers, some of which are well-known, will follow suit from the final introduction of the German gambling licence in summer 2021 at the latest.

Casinos without a licence

Besides casinos from Malta and Curacao, there are also many online casinos on the internet that have no licence at all. You will be able to guess: These are black sheep that you should definitely avoid. A casino without a licence is not controlled by any regulatory authority and can therefore do what it wants. So be sure to play only in online gambling halls with a valid gambling licence and do not let yourself be blinded by the fact that there are no limits and restrictions in casinos without a licence.

Casino without limits on Casino Bonus Blog 24 - is this actually serious and legal?

If an online casino with a gambling licence from Malta or Curacao continues to operate without limits, this does not necessarily mean that it is a dubious provider. Quite the opposite: many casinos simply have no desire to implement the German gambling regulations and therefore do not even apply for a German gambling licence. This is absolutely legitimate, as they already have a valid gambling licence and therefore refer to the legal requirements of their respective country. However, whether it will still be possible for German players to play in such a casino from summer 2021 is currently probably the most frequently asked question, to which there does not yet seem to be a clear answer.

What applies with regard to limits from the introduction of the German gambling licence?

When the German State Treaty on Gambling comes into force in summer 2021, there will be numerous changes for German players - and none of them are particularly welcome. With regard to the new limits, there is both the deposit limit and the betting limit.

Both terms sound almost identical, but are quite different: The deposit limit stipulates that a player may only deposit 1,000 euros per month in the casino.

If you think that you can deposit 1,000 euros with provider A and then directly deposit another 1,000 euros with provider B, you are not entirely wrong - because at the moment this relatively simple trick actually works. However, it can be assumed that they are already working on a casino-wide solution so that you can actually only spend 1,000 euros per month on gambling - a real shock, especially for high rollers.

The betting limit, on the other hand, determines how high a bet may be per spin in a game. Whereas up to now you could bet 50 euros, 100 euros or more, with the new gambling contract a maximum bet of just one euro per spin applies. Such a low amount naturally reduces the chances of a particularly high win immensely.
And then, of course, there is the fact that many players, in terms of their financial means, are perfectly capable of wagering more than one euro - but are forbidden to do so because of the new regulations.

Why were these new limits actually set at Casino Bonus Blog 24e?

The German government has considered new regulations for online gambling to prevent players from inadvertently becoming addicted to gambling. For this reason, both the deposit limit of 1,000 euros and the betting limit of one euro per spin have been set.

However, these requirements, which are unfortunately accompanied by a few more, do not appear to be overly well thought out. If anything, they contribute to the annoyance of players who feel patronised by the government and therefore quite rightly look for online casinos without limits.

What will the new State Treaty on Gambling change?

From summer 2021, players will have to prepare themselves (in part already now) for some fundamental changes that will unfortunately massively reduce the fun of gambling. These are the following adjustments:

  • A maximum of 1,000 euros may be deposited per month at online casinos.
  • A maximum of 1 euro per spin may be wagered on a slot machine.
  • After each full hour of play, a 5-minute break comes into effect.
  • Table games such as poker, roulette and blackjack will be banned.
  • Live games against real dealers will be banned.

In addition, a central addiction database will be introduced. Players who believe that they suffer from gambling addiction can register here voluntarily. All participating casinos have access to this database and must exclude the players registered in it from their offer without exception.

Conclusion on casinos without a licence:

Although the limits presented here already apply at various providers, there are still online casinos without limits where you can deposit and wager an unlimited amount of money as usual. As long as this is still possible, you should definitely take advantage of this opportunity - but only if you can really afford it from a financial point of view. On the other hand, you should definitely keep your hands off online casinos without a licence: even if they do not have any limits, we cannot recommend registering with such a provider under any circumstances.

Good casinos without a limit are the ICE Casino, the Bizzo Casino and the National Casino.
